Welcome graphic

I thought I'd put together this website to showcase a few pictures of the 1/6 scale British Vickers tank built by Tim Kano and painted by myself. Tim is a master scratch builder and by checking out the attached pictures I think everyone will agree with me on this one. below are pictures of a Vickers MKVIB tank and the beginning of it's crew of 3 {Tank and crew are both in progress}, in the pictures I've started the painting process, by no means is this vehicle done, I've a long ways to go. But it has reached the point where it looks reasonably put together, you'll get the basic idea
anyway. The camo is that of the Australian 7th Armoured Div., 1940/41. I'm working from a number of black and white photos and color plates of a few tanks that served at the first battle of Tobruk, 1941 {The crew uniform is also modeled after an actual crew, I used Dragon "Mark" Uniforms, they are only in the prototype stage, the picture I'm working from is in the book Desert Rats At War by George Forty, page 56}. The tanks were painted in a two tone blue/gray and desert tan, this camo would break up the out line of the tank while traveling in the open desert. It's a splinter type camo, basically the same type splinter camo the Royal Navy used on their warships. The tank in these pictures is a Vickers MK VIB armed with 1x.303 MG and 1x.5 MG, Tim has built another version of the Vickers, a MK VIC armed with a Besa 15mm and a 7.92mm, which will be painted all desert tan {also in progress, scroll down towards the bottom of the page}, these are light tanks to say
the least. This is basically the same suspension the British Bren Gun Carrier used. The Vickers tank has long been one of my all time favorite vehicles, I know it isn't much of a tank when it comes to the great tanks of WWII, but I've always thought the Vickers Tank had such classic lines, a great looking vehicle. Having this tank in 1/6 is truly a dream come true, I'd like to send out a huge "THANK YOU" to Tim Kano for building this incredible scratch built vehicle, Tim, you  are the King my friend!

Enjoy

Here's my LRDG Impression, Major, Royal Corps of Signals, the same as Major Ralph A. Bagnold, founder of the LRDG. My son is doing a generic British trooper desert impression. This was during a slow period of the day, so he's not in his full gear. For you uniform types, about the black armbands. This was just after the tragic London Bombings this past summer, so they were worn to show our solidarity.

Here's my son Garreth and I at this years 2005 Old Fort MacArthur Days, San Pedro California. I've dropped a few pounds sense this pictures was taken, I've lost 20 lb., I have another 25 lb. to go. The whole family went, good times for all.

It's starting to look good, but far to clean for my taste.
